There is the self you bring to rooms.
Polished, certain, applauded.

And the other one, awake at three, running the numbers on everything.

Everyone you know has met only the first.

Mira coaches the second.

Who is Mira
Cometae · MDCLXV

The most successful people get the least accurate information.

It sounds backwards, but it has to be true: the more you matter to people, the more reasons they have to tell you things are going well. Past a certain point, everyone around you is either paid by you, managed by you, or hoping for something from you. So the feedback that made you good stops reaching you right when the decisions get biggest.

The fix is old, and athletes never dropped it.

Someone in your corner whose only job is to watch you and tell you the truth. Most people lose that person as they rise, one specialist at a time. Mira is that person: a coach who meets you weekly, remembers what you said, and follows up when you go quiet. She doesn’t need anything from you. That turns out to be the rare part.
