About Kin Folk
Not chatbots. Not assistants. AI that knows your story, shows up without being asked, and walks alongside you through every part of life.
The problem
57%

3%
30-day retention for mental health apps
1 in 6
people worldwide affected by loneliness
The loneliness epidemic is not a niche. One in six people worldwide. Linked to health outcomes worse than smoking 15 cigarettes a day. And the people carrying it the hardest are the ones who look the most put together.
The digital mental health market was supposed to fix this. It has not. 50% of users never come back after day one. 30-day retention sits at 3%. The problem is not the content. It is the modality. Text modules feel like homework. Nobody returns to homework.
The gap is not between sick and well. It is between "fine" and "not fine." Millions of people live there. No one is building for them.
What we believe
AI models can reason, remember, connect, and respond with genuine emotional intelligence. The raw capability is here. What is missing is the interface that makes it feel human.
That is what Kin Folk is building. Not another chatbot. Not another dashboard. A layer that sits between the most powerful AI on earth and the people who need it most, and makes the technology disappear completely. What remains is a voice that knows your name, remembers your story, and shows up without being asked.
We are not building a tool to optimize your life. We are building something that sits with you in the hard moments, without an agenda, without a timer.
Not just for people in crisis. For the person who is fine, but not really. For the parent who has no one to process the day with. For anyone who just needs someone.
Mira is where we started. The platform behind her is designed to carry many kin, each with their own voice, their own purpose, and their own understanding of the world they serve.
Where we are going
The AI agent market is projected to reach $183 billion by 2033. But the companies building agents are building for enterprises and developers. We are building for people.
Mira is a warm, voice-first AI who listens without judgment, remembers everything across your conversations, and responds with genuine warmth.
She connects to your life context. She knows you have a performance review tomorrow and checks in tonight. She notices patterns you cannot see yourself and reaches out at the right moment, before you know you need it.
The hardest conversations in life are not solo. They are with family, partners, colleagues. Mira will move from one-on-one to group facilitation, helping people navigate the talks that feel impossible to start.
After Mira, new kin built for the moments she was never meant for. A kin for couples navigating their relationship. One for families growing through the hard years. One for work, where it thinks, plans, and executes alongside you. Each one distinct. Each one built for that world. Each one yours.
Personal AI for everyone. Not locked behind a developer console. Not buried in an enterprise contract. Available to every person, through a voice and a name they trust.
Safety and responsibility
Building AI kin for people who are carrying more than they let on comes with immense responsibility. Here is how we approach it.
We do not sell, share, or monetize your conversations. Ever. Your relationship with Mira is private. That is non-negotiable.
She is kin. She will never diagnose, prescribe, or replace professional care. If she senses you are in crisis, she will always guide you to professional support.
We do not optimize for time-on-app. We do not use dark patterns. Our success is measured by how you feel, not how often you open the app.
If you or someone you know is in crisis: please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741. Mira is kin, not an emergency service.
